Mercury Enters Sagittarius
Mercury enters Sagittarius
29th PDT 4:02 AM / 29th AEDT 10:02 PM
The messenger planet enters Sagittarius, where it will travel for just under three weeks before returning to Scorpio. Mercury’s final retrograde of the year will run from November 9/10 until November 29/30.
Mercury is considered debilitated in Sagittarius because details can be lost in this expansive, philosophical, open-to-interpretation sign. AND, as it enters the sign of the archer, Mercury immediately forms an opposition to Uranus in Gemini, which doesn’t do much to clarify the convoluted. There is a grandiosity here, a sense of moving fast and breaking things, especially where technology intersects with communication. 'Better in theory than in practice' might be a theme for the first few days of Mercury’s transit in this sign, and it’s a theme that we’re bound to return to during its retrograde spin.
There may be impressive breakthroughs at this time, but some collateral damage is the tradeoff for innovation; collateral damage that will be ideologically justified. Bluster and congratulatory backslapping are incoming, spin employed to distract from tensions or drown out calls for legitimate repair. Ever the optimists, those playing the part of Mercury in Sagittarius on the ground may not recognize or acknowledge those suffering under their 'advancements.' In our relationships, we should strive to be cognizant of how one person’s moral imperative may differ drastically from another’s, and getting someone else to TRULY see a matter from your point of view requires actual discourse, not an acceleration of Uranian anxieties. ESPECIALLY after Mercury turns around, keep in mind that ramping up confusion to the point where your opponent assents out of frustration or exhaustion is not communication, it’s bad magic.
