Mercury enters Aries, making the final of three conjunctions to mystical Neptune, and completing a story of spiritual reflection that began in early March. The past few weeks supported a merger of intellect and intuition. It was not enough for us to strategize our way out of a jam – we were instructed to *imagine* what a different life, a different world, could look like.
You might have clocked secret meaning underlying a seemingly straightforward conversation or discovered a hidden message in the media you consume. However, the flip-side of Mercury-Neptune aspects is the tendency to conflate legitimate synchronicities with wishful thinking. As easily as we can discover a transcendent truth, we can delude ourselves into swallowing a complete fabrication – a paradox. The first two alignments between Mercury and Neptune occurred in Pisces, but today’s merger in the firey sign of the ram intensifies the perception that our individual truth is THE truth. And because we perceive the world through senses and nervous system responses unique to ourselves, we risk falling into our own uniquely complex delusions.
Mercury in Aries adds speed to communication. Our thoughts are more impulsive and decisions are made reactively. The good news is that we are now able to respond to a crisis. The bad news is that the crisis may be an imagined one.
Fortunately, we can bounce back quickly from mistakes made during Mercury in Aries. Just beware of rushing to judgment, because one or two irrational conclusions are inevitable. The further Mercury gets from Neptune the more clarity we will have, but at present, militaristic views can masquerade as divinely transmitted messaging.
