Mars enters Sagittarius
Mars enters Sagittarius
24th PST 2:15 / 24th AEDT 21:15
Mars, our planet of action and self-assertion, follows the sun into Sagittarius today. During its passage through Scorpio over the past six weeks, passion motivated our movements. However, our attraction to crises may have landed us in a few messes of our own making. Facing our fears has been as important as acknowledging where we potentially exacerbate conflict via an unconscious craving for intensity.
But today, we shift gears. Fixed water melts away to mutable fire. Warmth returns, along with our wanderlust. Mars in Sagittarius natives are often pigeonholed as spontaneous and therefore, unreliable. But throughout this transit, inconsistency is hardly reflective of our enthusiasm for a cause. With a chosen target in our sights, Mars’ presence in the sign of the archer allows us to aim our arrow straight and true. We’re all in…at least initially.
The hazard for Mars occupying ANY fire sign is burnout. For Mars in Aries, this burnout is the result of boredom, and a refusal to pace ourselves. For Mars in Leo, the burnout stems from a disinterest in an acquisition once it has been achieved.
For Mars in Sagittarius, burnout is a consequence of blind zeal coupled with unrealistic expectations. Our idealism is so high in this domain that we set ourselves up for disappointment before we’ve even left the gate. Well-conceived projects or dreams can be prematurely abandoned when we don’t immediately strike gold. So rather than hemming yourself into an itinerary, keep your plans flexible. You’ll have more luck this way.
Under this influence, we must have the freedom to roam and explore. We must give ourselves permission to take a few wrong turns and have a few bizarre misadventures. The next six weeks provide valuable opportunities to discover what you really want out of life. But you might have to get lost before you find the right path. After all, it's the journey, not the destination, that counts.
