Mars Enters Aries

Mars arrives in Aries bearing all the hallmarks of the warrior planet in its place of power and purpose: courage, impulsivity, the urge to compete - and win. Consequences be damned, we won’t be sidelined in the pursuit of our chosen conquest! This is ‘move fast and break things’ energy, firebrand energy that disrupts comfortable realities while paving the way for new possibilities. Mars in Aries results can typically only be measured in hindsight, when we’re tallying our victories, or assessing the damage done - generally both.

However, this time Mars’ Arian ingress thrusts it into contact with Neptune and Saturn in quick succession. These are planetary forces that distort realities and dissuade us from taking action. Our foolproof plan? Well, maybe it isn’t so great after all, we’ll think. Maybe it’s not worth the effort. Neptune has a way of yucking the yum of an adventure. And if we have to work extra hard for something we want, could we even count its achievement as a triumph? Can we count a delayed win a win? Saturn acts as a dampener of Martial fire. The effect of these transits is to make us overeager, confident and surefooted, and then, just as quickly, to have us lapse into confusion, self-doubt, and frustration. They test our convictions and cause us to question our instincts, which may be very sound ones!

The next six weeks ask us to hold our course when the option of self-sabotage is on the table. There will be many reasons to second-guess our personal motives and many creative ways to fall prey to self-deception. When the going gets murky, remember that faith doesn’t have to be blind and limitations can offer structure to your vision rather than functioning as roadblocks. This is no time to quit. It’s a time to remember what is worth fighting for.
