Jupiter Square Saturn
Jupiter Square Saturn
24th PST 13:59 / 25th AEDT 8:59
Jupiter and Saturn form their second of three squares – part of an ongoing Jupiter-Saturn cycle. Their first square took place on August 19 with Jupiter direct and Saturn retrograde. In this second pass, Jupiter is retrograde and Saturn, direct. Their final clash will occur on June 15, 2025, with both planets direct, and Saturn and Jupiter having shifted into Aries and Cancer, respectively.
Jupiter is the planet of abundance and Saturn is the planet of limitation. When they square, we experience the tension of these influences, manifesting in uncertainty and pessimism. Robbed of safety nets and with hardship mounting, we begin to question the future we’ve envisioned for ourselves. This transit tests the constitution of even the most optimistic amongst us.
When idealism and good humor has failed, the only thing left to do is to put in the work. Rewards are promised for perseverance, but a corresponding loss of faith is guaranteed. Professional and personal goals remain in flux as we assess the cost of keeping a dream alive.
Taking a bird’s eye view, these Jupiter-Saturn squares have a direct correlation to the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction which took place at the end of December 2020 – a year that changed the lives of many for many reasons. The conjunction drummed up cynicism around the efficacy of institutions that we previously placed faith in. Business, science, education, religion, politics: all required a rethink. Whatever conclusions were drawn then are up for review again now. When to hold the course, when to push forward, and when to scale back is the ultimate calculation, and since we’re at the mid-way point of this cycle, clear-cut solutions are not due to arrive just yet. Be mindful of this if your boat currently seems particularly rudderless.
