Jupiter Enters Leo

One of the most sought after transits of the year. Jupiter leaves the exalted temple of the Moon and moves into brilliant realm of the Sun. Although Jupiter favors Cancer, it also finds joy, play, and pleasure in the sign of Leo. It expands and grows our relationship with creativity, adventure, self-expression, personal desire, and connections to our inner child. Jupiter no longer needs to nourish, but instead it can feel free and open in the most expansive of ways!

Jupiter will move through the Fixed Fire sign for about a year, allowing us time to explore the relationship we can have with Leo energy. This means a year of opening ourselves up to understanding how we shine and what makes us feel more alive! Jupiter in Leo is big, magnanimous. It reminds us the importance of taking up space and living in our authentic selves. There is no questioning who we are. Radical acts of self-acceptance allow us to fully embrace every piece of us and to engage in the world with honesty. One of the hallmarks of this transit is accountability. Jupiter in Leo tells us that we can and will be accountable for who we are and what we bring into this world.

Jupiter will go through many iterations and transformations in its time in Leo! It will harmonize with most of the outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune), especially in mid to late July when it is part of Barbault’s Basket. This particular configuration is a rare occurrence discovered by Andre Barbault, noting that Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will all connect in some way bringing a big shift in our collective existence. He believes this is a period of redirecting us and changing our priorities from 2020. Jupiter’s relationship to Uranus and Neptune in particular during this time is inspiring, innovative, and spontaneous. It welcomes a chance to fully explore the limits and edges of what we believe to be possible. Jupiter will also work well with Saturn in the coming year. It will feel stabilized and secure in the positive reception to the taskmaster. August and early September of 2026 will be the first meeting of these two giants. Starting something that we will see play out and grow steadily in the months that follow.

One last important note to Jupiter in Leo is that it will be co-present with the South Node in the same sign. The South Node is a place of release, reconnection, and reconciliation. What this means is that wherever Leo has rulership in your chart will simultaneously see a release and a gain. You will be asked to let something go in order to welcome in more abundance. When Mars joins these two in November 2026 (and again in March 2027), the narrative will be emphasized.
