August Transits and Monthly Overview
Wrapping up unfinished business? As August begins, storylines are completing. Amends are being made. After the 10th/11th, the tone changes as we pitch headlong into another eclipse season.
August’s first eclipse, a solar eclipse, falls in Leo on August 12/13. We may anticipate theatrical events, however, this eclipse involves the South Node, so it is more likely to trigger deeply self-conscious experiences, where we doubt the merits of our ambitions, creations, or even our fundamental likes and dislikes. Our instruction: to reckon with performance anxiety, masking and false pride.
The August 28 Pisces Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is apt to be the more emotionally hard-hitting one, where something culminates and/or falls apart. Whatever occurs during this eclipse FORCES us to feel (uncomfortable), but when the dust settles, we will be more settled within our Selves.
NOTABLE TRANSITS
August 3/4 – Chiron is Rx: your inner critic is often your own worst enemy, but now you SEE it. Over the next four months, talk up your worth when you’re tempted to talk yourself down.
August 6/7 – Venus enters Libra: witty banter and refined aesthetics are central to attraction during Venus’ five-week stay in its home sign. Play up the romance!
August 9/10 – Mercury enters Leo: confidence or bluster? Who can say. Storytelling leans heavily on creative license, but there’s typically a kernel of truth in there.
August 11 – Mars enters Cancer: act on instinct but be aware that your moods are calling the shots. Intense emotions may not be true indicators of urgency.
August 22/23 – Sun enters Virgo: bettering ourselves becomes a theme, but strive for skillfulness, not flawlessness. Small improvements are the key to progress.
August 25/26 – Mercury enters Virgo: clock the details, but don’t lose the forest for the trees. Embrace: factfinding. Avoid: faultfinding.
