Have only gotten these as gifts for friends before, but this one was for me. I have many journals and note pads (physical and digital) for work, thoughts, magic, doodles. Mostly moleskine, both pocket and full size, and I like them but wanted something more personal -- something imbued with thought and love for the universe and other people.
This journal has exceeded all my expectations in all regards. The tactile feel, the packaging, the evident love and intentionality. The paper is also slightly thicker or otherwise less given to bleed-through than my moleskines which was a massively pleasant surprise! It's so much easier to stay present on page when the canvas for my play isn't showcasing what's written on the page under it, or even the opposite side. The cover design is absolutely beautiful, and manages to feel solid while conveying an ephemeral quality. The lettering on the spine slightly offset diagonally making it feel curious and alive. It shines elegantly and subtle on my shelf.
Finally, from the moment I sat down with my new journal and set my space with purpose (a light tidying up, a candle, a few deep breaths, and a personal incant) I found myself melting into the "empty" pages and knowing exactly how to proceed.
