So just a few minutes ago, I saw American rapper Lil Nas X in true Aries style tell his followers on Instagram, 'Let’s go! The past is done, come on — it’s time to go. The next chapter isn’t going to open until you let go of the last one. Let’s go, it’s time to go!' And I was once again in awe of Aries energy. When Aries Season begins, it’s time to go. Since it’s the first zodiac season, it has no past — it only moves forward in the present, bravely. What a radical idea.

Like the New Moon reflection inspires us to remember, we can birth a new self through conscious activity. That conscious activity, I’d argue, is the regular reminder that the present is the only time there is. The here and now is Aries time. No past. No future. Just now. When we are here — not there! —  we can birth the new self while remaining aware of who we have always been. Again, what a radical idea — to be and do as if it’s always the first time. To fall in love without knowing heartbreak. To have courage without having known rejection. To try without ever having failed. This audacity is available to us if we remember that the heartbreak, rejection and failure happened in the past. But you have no past now. Are you willing to live from this premise and find its power so you can birth a new version of yourself?

Especially when it comes to your lifeforce. After being surrounded by collective deadness and violence, an Aries transit is an invitation to be fully alive. Natalie Babbitt wrote, 'Don't be afraid of death; be afraid of an unlived life.' Without the past weighing you down and with the full gift of life in your hands, I want you to examine how you want. Aries is the ruler of desire. Defined by Esther Perel as 'owning the wanting.' So, how can you want to want a different present moment? Want to want. This is key. So many of us, because of our past heartbreak, failure, and rejection, stop wanting. Because wanting made a fool out of us. But when we stop wanting, we stop living.

And if there was ever a moment to release what keeps us from fully wanting, it’s this one. Venus retrograde in Pisces forms a conjunction to Neptune, which we haven’t seen since 1998, a Venus retrograde Neptune conjunction — so this is rare. And it’s profound. Venus retrograde dissolves illusions about love, worth and longing, while Neptune dissolves everything that isn’t real. This Eclipse is a portal of release, allowing us to let go of old desires, outdated dreams and past attachments that no longer fit. And with the Eclipse also conjunct the North Node and Saturn in Pisces, this isn’t just a fleeting moment — it’s karmic closure. A Saturn-sealed ending. We cannot take what we’ve outgrown into the new life that awaits us. If we truly want to move forward, we must honor what is leaving, trust the empty space and allow the unknown to carry us. So, remember to want this Solar Eclipse in Aries. Want boldly. Want without apology. Want as if it’s your first time wanting — because in Aries time, it always is.
