Week Ahead Transits 21st - 27th August

Welcome to Virgo Season!

This week the Sun travels between the last degrees of Leo and into the first pumps of Virgo. We are initiated into the final processes of the ego’s exploration with the themes of confidence, identity, and personal offerings. Between the Lion and the Virgin lies our purpose and the gifts that we have to share. The unique qualities that make us shine sometimes don’t shine as brightly as they could on their own and we need to build heat and friction to scrub the surface to reveal the innate beauty. The transition between Leo and Virgo shows us the process within the soul’s journey where we find meaning in what we are conditioned for. Now that we have explored and experimented with the concept of an ego, it is time to refine that expression.

Virgo season is the time when we deep clean the crevasses of the subconscious mind, omitting frivolity, and editing out the blemishes. “Cleanliness is godliness” some would say, and a Virgo might agree.

The Sun meets up with Saturn in opposition and the tension that the two bring can be felt building throughout the week. The two power figures come face to face in the heavens, requiring us mortals on Earth to confront our internal and external relationship with authority. The Sun highlights where the collective attention is placed, and where in our charts our lives are being illuminated while Saturn works to toughen, harden and crystalize something in our lives. Navigating the structures and boundaries of others will have us having to either choose or collaborate between our values/duties and that of an outside force.

The Moon moves through the signs Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Capricorn. Halfway through this journey, the Moon meets with the Sun to form the first quarter square in Sagittarius. This square halfway through the week can surface important messages and themes that will help us on the pathway to fulfilling our bigger purpose and propel us on our intellectual pursuits. Speaking of intellectual pursuits, Mercury stations retrograde in Virgo at 21°51’ this week and will remain retrograde for 3 weeks until September 15th. Mercury will travel back to 8° Virgo before stationing direct. As Mercury rules Virgo, we can expect to see mix-ups in communication, information, data and facts. It is the time to scrutinize what is being heard, read and understood.

Mars ingress into Libra at the end of the week when the Sun meets its opposition with Saturn. This will grant us the opportunity to work on our negotiation skills. There could certainly be an uptick in political banter, small arguments in general, and a bit of back and forth over personal judgements. When Mars is in Libra, it prompts us to asses our scenery through the lens of how we think others would take action first. We observe first and act later and this can either help or hinder us based on what our desired outcome is.

We can only attempt to quench the thirst for knowledge by exploring the curious meanderings of the monkey mind. Perhaps a bout of problem-solving can tickle the brain through a deep dive with a true crime storyline, or a quasi-researched government cover-up. Eager to understand whatever it is that we are focusing our minds on, it is a good day to direct the attention onto something of importance to the growth of the soul. Ask yourself if what you are engaging your awareness with is of importance to you or if it is a mere distraction because what you focus your thoughts on today will undoubtedly create your tomorrow.

Friday 25th

Grande fire trine of the feminine bodies. Venus, the Moon and Chiron form a trine offering us the pathway towards healing insecurities with our egos such as: showing up, offering our gifts, confidence, and creative performance. We will have to figure out a way to overcome self-doubt and insecure thinking patterns. It is not the time to rely on logic/the thinking mind because it is under the influence of a retrograde Mercury. The data that we are feeding into the subconscious are outdated recordings on a tape cassette which need to be flipped over to the other side.

It is entirely possible to know exactly what is good for you intellectually, but decide to go with the least healthy option. It can feel like a power play to cheat the mind by making a decision that counters the directive as a way to gain control over our circumstances. If you notice a power dynamic emerges, ask yourself what it is that would help to alleviate the tension. How can you collaborate, coordinate and accommodate the opposition to regain steady footing?
