Happy Solstice! Sun > Cancer on 20th at 7:42 pm PDT / 21st 12:42 pm ACT. It’s time to commune with the ancestors, reconnect with the lineage and the land. Cancer season is here and this marks a whole new season, not only astrologically in the sky, but also here on our lovely little planet. In the Northern Hemisphere, the entrance of the Sun into the sign of Cancer signifies the beginning of Summer, while in the Southern Hemisphere this day marks the beginning of winter. The day is at its longest and shortest, depending on if you are north or south of the equator. Cancer season elicits sweet memories of the past, childhood and upbringing; it’s a time of reflection and remembrance, and when the past becomes present. Cancer season is a great month to set up an altar to give appreciation to those who have walked before us, the thought leaders, teachers, pioneers and all who pushed forth the evolution of humanity so that we may exist where we are today. After the Sun ingresses into Cancer, the great bringer of life will meet with Father Time, Saturn, in square formation at the end of the week. This vortex of swirling timelines requires a level of fortitude and resilience that comes from etching parts of the ego away, ushering in the wisdom of natural law and the elders. Taking personal responsibility for past deeds and actions will surely put you on the good side of Saturn.
Mars ingresses into Virgo on the 17th where he will be furiously organizing and tidying up loose ends until the 6th August. Mars doesn’t just define how we move and the actions that we take, but it also describes the sexual energy that inspires. The bedroom scene changes from overly friendly, fiery Leo to the more prudent and pragmatic Virgo, focusing on hygiene, wellness and purification. We become more discerning in matters of lust and passion, vying for quality over quantity. While Mars is in Virgo, we can take more concerted actions that help to develop a skillset, perfecting the craft and focusing energy on all of the leftover tasks that went to the wayside while Mars was in fun-loving Leo.
Jupiter square Neptune 18th/19th, this transit is ripe for spiritual and mystical experiences. This connection between the tireless optimist and the dreamy spiritualist combines into one that asks us to soften our edges, while we try as hard as we can to move forward with empathy, compassion and generosity of heart. Jupiter in his exaltation in Cancer teaches us how to nurture and care for the place we call home. Home can mean many things to people, depending on the Moon and Cancer locations, but with this transit of Jupiter through the domesticated crab comes a broader understanding of what it means to have pride in the land and locale of where you reside. The veil may become thicker throughout the days when Jupiter and Neptune meet in square aspect, provoking avoidance tendencies as a reaction to self-preservation, turning to family and places of origin as a soothing salve. Another reaction the Jupiter square Neptune aspect can prompt is the curiosity around where in our lives we may have used spiritual gaslighting as a tool to evade certain truths or just evaded truth in general for the sake of one’s comfort. Blind faith, or blind optimism can be extraordinarily helpful when navigating insurmountable odds and oftentimes is what gets people through their dark night of the soul. However, if we are not in a place where we need to rely on these tools, it can be a good time to reflect on what areas of life are in need of a more pragmatic and grounded approach to viewing life’s problems.
Monday 16th
The Sun and Jupiter elevate the collective mood to a steady level where self-esteem and confidence radiate out of the Aquarian Moon. The nervous system is at peace, meditations are flowing and the need for balance is clear. We’re seeking less drama, almost to an avoidant level, especially when the Moon ingresses into Pisces. Needing a calm and relaxed space to think freely and creatively is a part of the MO for the day. When the Moon trines Jupiter, the higher mind comes out to play and the opportunity to learn something new about how we process emotions comes into full view.

Tuesday 17th
Mars ingresses into Virgo today! We may notice a shift in how we move, act and express frustrations, which, when in Virgo, will be quite particular. There will be much more scrutiny over how precise we can be in work, daily life and with regards to our daily routines. When Mars is in Virgo, an uptick in wellness activities tends to pick up, and the general aim for all actions is to be more efficient, wasting less. We may become more nit-picky about how we engage sexually, shifting the focus from magnanimous Leo to hygiene-oriented Virgo. The Moon in Pisces shares lovely moments with Venus and Mercury, opening up room for pleasant communications with close friends, siblings and partners.
Moon sextile Venus, trine Mercury, Sun sextile Chiron, Mars > Virgo.
Wednesday 18th
The Moon has joined the Jupiter/Saturn square dance making issues around faith, beliefs and religion a personal journey of soul discovery. Our own beliefs are impacted through a query that forces a moment of self-reflection. Religion and spirituality don’t always mix, and it is helpful to be able to define which one informs the other. Tensions may rise between the various world faiths, which helps us to question where we stand on the topic. Jupiter/Neptune together also generate enormous amounts of empathy, compassion and kindness, and we may see movement in the collective with regards to providing healing, aid and support to those in need.
Moon conjunct NN, square Sun, sextile Uranus, Moon > Aries at 4:07 am PDT, Moon conjunct Saturn, square Jupiter, conjunct Neptune, sextile Pluto, Jupiter square Neptune.
Thursday 19th
There are no notable transits today, and the Moon is still travelling through the cardinal fire sign Aries, so the aspects of yesterday carry over, and the Jupiter/Neptune square is still very present. As the Moon moves through the second decan of Aries, this will be a good time to lay down a plan, make prominent decisions and take quick actions towards work projects and goals. This is the last day of Gemini season, preparing our space, getting organized and shifting gears towards opening into the watery realms of Cancer will be on the docket.
No notable transits.
Friday 20th
The Sun enters Cancer today, which marks the solstice! It’s a beautiful time to commune with nature, reconnect with the natural rhythms of the earth and connect with the ancestors. Take time out of the day to give recognition for all who have come before you, to those who walked so you could run. The Moon enters Taurus today, forcing us to slow down and take the long route home.
Moon square Mercury, conjunct Chiron, sextile Sun, Moon > Taurus 6:52 pm PDT, trine Mars, sextile Jupiter, Sun > Cancer at 7:42 pm PDT.
Saturday 21st
Mercury is creating easy communication and mental processing for future planning, dreaming about what’s to come, while the Moon is putting pressure on our relationships. Productive conversations about the relationship, what the expectations are and how to continue growing unfurl throughout the day. Mercury is still in sensitive Cancer, so whatever we hear today can come across as personal; we are not necessarily in our objective phases, so be aware of any tendencies to take things to heart.
Moon square Pluto rx, conjunct Venus, Mercury trine NN.
Sunday 22nd
The Sun and Saturn form a square, which forces restrictions on the will. This is the day when we seek out retribution, justice and karmic rebalancing – or the themes just listed are in the air and spark inspiration to challenge ourselves. Taking personal responsibility for your actions leads to blessings from Saturn, Remember to be brutally honest with yourself around your own life, behaviors, roles and work to improve upon what you have already built. The Moon ingresses into Gemini so it’s like we just had a pot of coffee that lasts for 2.5 days.
Moon sextile NN, sextile Mercury, conjunct Uranus, Moon - Gemini at 7:57 pm PDT, sextile Saturn, sextile Neptune, Mars sextile Jupiter, Sun square Saturn.
