Sun = Virgo 22°42’ – Virgo 29°32’
Moon = Cancer – Libra
The New Moon in Virgo at 29°05’ at the tail end of the week closes out the eclipse portal. Like a revolving door, the eclipse spins new people, experiences and circumstances in and out of our lives; and this is especially so with the New Moon at the critical last degree of the mutable earth sign that cleans house. Sweeping the cobwebs out of the shadows through the eclipse New Moon allows to free up precious mental space. What concerns, worries or anxieties run unwelcomed through the mind that do nothing to improve your life? Thinking burns around 260 calories a day, that amount doubles when exerting more intense mental activity, so imagine how much energy you burn when in a state of tension and anxiety.
Virgo is a sign that is oftentimes associated with wellness and health. Due to modern astrology’s connection of Virgo to the 6th house, there certainly is a correlation with Virgo’s tendencies towards preservation and upkeep. Not all Virgos are health conscious and the sign itself doesn’t denote this proclivity, however while the Sun illuminates the virgin, a more concerted effort is taken to purify and filter parts of our lives that the sign resides in the chart; but oftentimes that focus is set on the physical vessel. The last decan of Virgo imparts wisdom of how to persevere, despite the odds. Each step that is taken amounts to forward movement, even though the light at the end of the tunnel may be dim. Virgo also teaches us how to discern what is deserving of our energy as we draw from the well onto parched land.
Venus met with Uranus on July 3rd, shaking up and evolving what the notion of stability meant for the collective. They now meet in their first square, activating events that test whatever new philosophy on love and relating had emerged during that time. An opportunity to express love from a higher perspective shines through. Relationships of all kinds go through cycles of change, the way we relate to friends, society and partners grows and subsides with the Venus/Uranus tides.
The Sun opposes Saturn the day before the New Moon Partial Eclipse, which effects the general mood and atmosphere. Energy levels may be lower, attitudes might also shirk into a more somber and clinical tone. It could be difficult getting the motivation to fulfill tasks and duties, feeling more weighted than usual with responsibilities. But this happens each year when the Sun meets with Saturn in this balancing act, and each time it occurs we get to prove to ourselves that we are able to move through any blocks by shifting our perspective on the challenge. Don’t let the small things bring you down, and if you do notice a slump in your outlook, practicing gratitude is a quick way to alter a negative mood.

Is there such a thing as too much fun? Venus is in Leo hooking up with Mars in Libra swapping hot gossip through a sextile all day. The energy is flirty, social and playful. Responsibilities that can’t be ignored takes precedence, becoming overwhelmed with the details and the sheer amount of work to be done can produce perfectionist paralysis. Try not to over think the specifics, break down each task to manageable steps with any project today and focus on what can realistically be done in an eight hour window. Mercury opposite Saturn pits the mind against what is possible, so organizing our thoughts will offer the solutions we seek.

The New Moon eclipse is beginning to wash in and energies may be feeling a bit more introverted, contemplative and rather somber with the Sun meeting in opposition to Saturn. Venus is also square to Uranus, forcing adjustments within group dynamics, spending habits and values. Understanding the differences in how each person operates in their own understanding will help to foster a feeling of support.

The New Moon Partial Eclipse in Virgo at the last degree colors the tone of what is being planted. The New Moon sits on the south node just opposite of Neptune, allowing old visions and ideas to wash away. Past visions of the future that we may have held on to morph into quantitative steps. We get a reality check of sorts that emphasizes how much is to be done in order to achieve the dream. Let go of old identities, disconnect with the egoic need for validation.
