Venus Enters Virgo

Venus Enters Virgo
19th PDT 5:39 AM / 19th AEST 10:39 PM
Venus makes its ingress into Virgo, where it will transit for the next three weeks. Traditionally speaking, Venus struggles to express itself in Virgo. Its orientation to beauty and harmony is challenged by Virgo’s compulsion to critique and analyze. However, this year, as Venus enters Virgo, it enters into mutual reception with Mercury in Libra. (i.e. Venus is in the sign ruled by Mercury, and Mercury is in the sign ruled by Venus.) For the next two and a half weeks, these planets will be in a conversation with each other. Mercury’s influence uplifts the fallen Venus, enhancing its positive qualities and mitigating its less constructive expressions.
Mercury and Venus’ mutual reception has the feeling of a friend pulling another friend to the side in a crowded room and asking for the real tea. We *need* to know what’s what now, but certain people are too polite or too afraid to offend to tell you what they’re really thinking. They’ll drop subtle hints, hoping you’ll read between the lines. Not so with the Virgo Venus person. Your shoes are ugly, and Virgo Venus needs you to know that, not because they’re trying to hurt your feelings, but because they’re trying to elevate your look.
We’re just shy of tomorrow’s solar eclipse. Mars is fresh off an activating opposition with Chiron. There’s a great deal of cosmic disorientation at present, and amidst the chaos, we can miss the obvious. What we really need are honest dialogues. We need advice. We need second opinions, and our friends and family can decode situations that we’re too enmeshed in to perceive accurately, and too indecisive to act upon. This is the gift of Venus in Virgo. Use the coming weeks to pull that friend aside and get the tea. *Ask for help*, because you WILL receive it.
