Venus Enters Leo

Venus enters Leo, a sign where affection, if not tribute, is demanded! The evening star is doing the most right now. Its first few days in the sign of the lion finds Venus trining Neptune and opposing Pluto; a recipe for fated/fatal attractions and quixotic miscalculations. Infatuations can be mistaken for karmic bonds. We can pedestalize those who aren’t worth our investment, and a few beautiful moments spent in the throes of passion can take up residency in our psyche for the foreseeable future (and inadvertently become the rod by which we measure *future* passions). This is the dangerous stuff of forbidden temptations, power imbalances, or imagined soul connections that end in romance scams. 

There is, however, a helpful factor boosting our agency behind the scenes of these hypnotic transits: Venus’ deference to the Gemini sun. With the planet of values in solar territory, we come home to ourselves by following our curiosity. The cerebral, rather than the sensual, is ultimately in control here. So, we might enjoy a bit of drama, or even a bit of mess now! But we’re less likely to abandon ourselves to desire because our ultimate priority is rapport, not adulation. If someone lays on their feelings too thick, *suspiciously* thick, it’s going to be easy to clock. If someone has a nefarious agenda, we’ll see it easily, even if we’d prefer we could be a bit more dense about it!

By the time the sun enters Cancer, causing Venus to answer to the moon, it will be out of orb of the planets that can cause us to unwittingly fall prey to bad actors, or wishful thinking, or both! The duration of its transit leaves room for us to embrace sweeter experiences of love, validation, artistry, and opulence.
