Sun Enters Taurus

However, with four planets and Chiron still in Aries, fire continues to fuel our behavior, and the sun’s edgy aspect to Pluto (discussed at length in our April Thrival guide) doesn’t do much to mitigate tensions. On top of this, the sun in Taurus answers to Venus, Taurus’ planetary ruler, which is currently co-present with the sun in the sign of the bull. That’s nice astrology. Or it would be, if Venus wasn’t in an applying conjunction to Uranus, lord of all things unpredictable and disruptive, presently perched on Taurus’ anaretic, or crisis degree. The poor sun just wants us to relax, yet the makings of mischief are all around. 

In a way, the conditions of the sun’s passage through Taurus WILL provide the intended medicine: to reconnect us with our bodies and slow us down long enough so that we can make more deliberate choices in the face of overstimulating circumstances. Romantic and financial affairs stand to be especially baffling now, but instead of searching for the quick fix or the band-aid, or caving to the urge to throw in the towel altogether, we can stand solidly in the eye of the storm without succumbing to overwhelm. More importantly, in the center of things, we have a unique vantage point. We can better deduce when action is TRULY required of us, versus where invoking stillness and demonstrating self-composure is the more pragmatic alternative.
