We have successfully completed yet another descent into the Mercurial underworld! There is bound to be some cleanup in order, as the messenger planet stations direct. Indeed, some drama may still be ongoing, as Mercury is currently locked into several aspects — most notably an opposition to Pluto, pitching us into detective mode. Our present investigation may be warranted — someone might have been keeping something critical from us, and the truth has just come to light. Or this may be an exercise in obsession, crossed wires exposing our paranoia or penchant for conspiratorial thinking.
The important thing now is that we CAN clean up the mess. Taking accountability for the way we respond to conflict puts us in the driver’s seat of life and love. We are not at the mercy of our fears. We can communicate intelligently despite those fears once we acknowledge the irrational hold they have over us.
Additionally, discourse does not have to be provocative to change minds. At the end of the day, all we want is to be heard and seen. It isn’t too much of a stretch, then, to imagine that this is also what those with whom we interact want: a moment of connection. Bearing witness without projection is an alchemical act. So is the admission that our opinions aren’t gospel. We may not be entirely right OR entirely wrong — especially if we only have part of the story.
Mercury will pass through its post-retrograde shadow until August 25/26. The next two weeks will offer clarity to those who initiate difficult conversations with a pure heart and an open mind.
