Mercury enters Libra today, where analytical dispositions are undercut by tendencies to vacillate, flip-flop, and avoid decision-making. Mercury in Libra blesses us with the ability to see problems and ideas from multiple angles. “Leave it up to Mars to take the action,” Mercury says. “I have equivocating to do.”
But as usual, there are myriad dynamics at play when planets are at work, the most obvious at present being that Venus has just entered Scorpio, and we are on the cusp of a Virgo new moon. The shorthand: we’re scrutinizing EVERYTHING right now. We’re aware of what could be done better, more efficiently. We’re holding ourselves and others to impossible standards and judging everyone more harshly than they deserve. But because Mercury is in Libra, we’re not saying anything about it, and that can create some serious problems in the coming days.
Mercury in Libra is the cosmic equivalent of “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” The truth MATTERS to us with the messenger planet in the sign of the scales, however, because telling the truth might mean disturbing the peace, gripes are going unaddressed. We know how harsh our inner landscape is, so we think that our omissions are doing others a kindness. But grievances left to fester do just that – fester. Items swept under the rug aren’t gone for good. Everyone has already clocked the lumpy carpet and knows that at some point, someone will have to lift up the corner and take care of the mess. Keep in mind that any and all disagreements, disturbances, and disputes (or the evasion thereof) are part of the Venus retrograde story happening as we speak. The boomerang WILL come back around. So ultimately, whether you want to brave the uncomfortable conversation now or later is your call.
