Jupiter begins its year-long journey in the watery realms of Cancer, with the last square to Saturn. Both planets are at the first degrees of their new abodes, it’s as if they both recognize they are in new territory and are collaborating on how to form personal autonomy and independence outside of an established system. This can generate a very conservative approach to problem-solving, vying for the tried and true rather than the traditional door-busting methods of Jupiter; cautious expansion with regards to how it will affect family and our closest relationships.
It becomes apparent how antiquated laws block growth and evolution, and how necessary it is to expand upon old rules (whether written or spoken) to reflect modern life. Education is on the frontlines of progress and without understanding where we have come from, it is nearly impossible to know where we are headed.
On 21st Dec, 2020, Jupiter and Saturn met in the sign Aquarius at 0°, which is when a completely new social structure was coming into place. We are now seeing a critical point in the restructuring of social collective norms, laws, rules and regulations from that potent meet-up. The relationship between our two paternal figures are at odds, think teachers vs law enforcement or religious leaders vs politicians; the two key players who have a direct say in how daily life is organized come to the negotiating table.
This last square that we have been navigating since August last year is very critical, it will solidify for many: new instructions, directives and guidelines in our lives. Where these new procedures show up will be determined by where the signs Cancer/Aries fall in your chart. Questioning how we have internalized governmental, academic and familial authority so that it aligns with spiritual beliefs and practices. A moral adjustment is made and with it comes necessary changes to how we relate to our culture and family’s history.
